LEEDS FORCE 53-109 SURREY SCORCHERS

Scorchers completed the season sweep against the Leeds Force as they won 109-53 in a dominating performance on Friday evening.

The away side scored over 100 points for the fourth straight game as they doubled the score of their struggling opponents.

All five starters scored in double figures with Gerald Robinson leading the charge with 20 points and 6 steals.

February BBL player of the month Tony Hicks added 19 points and 6 assists to the resounding victory.

Scorchers built up a comfortable 8-point lead after 10 minutes thanks to some stellar defence and multiple steals.

The 2nd quarter followed the same pattern as Scorchers pushed to a double-digit lead thanks to some controlled passing and unstoppable fastbreaks. Tayo Ogedengbe and Josh Steel took control to ensure Scorchers had a big lead heading into the half time break.

Jordan Williams and Hicks took control of the third quarter to outscore Leeds 35-16 to seemingly put the game out of sight with a quarter to play.

Incredible defence from Creon Raftopoulos’ men held the Force to just 8 in the final period to win by a staggering 56 points.

Scorchers move up to a 14-11 record as they continue the playoff push and will look to secure a record 7th home win in a row next Sunday (25th March) when they host the Newcastle Eagles in a 2.15pm tip-off at Surrey Sports Park.
