With the number of inactive and obese children on the rise in recent decades, Surrey Scorchers want to help in making the next generation as active as possible.
Identifying long term health benefits and providing pathways for further participation, Basketball for All aims to tackle issues with children’s physical and mental wellbeing within the pockets of deprivation in Surrey.
THE EVENT
The Surrey Scorchers work in partnership with their charitable arm the Scorchers Foundation to deliver your Basketball for All session. Professional players from the Surrey Scorchers team along with Head coach, Creon will deliver a fully coached basketball session for up to 100 children aged 9-11.
Starting with a mass warm up and then breaking into smaller groups, the children will be taught the basics of the sport and shown the long term benefits of playing sport regularly.
Following a series of matches, participants will also get the opportunity to have a Q&A session with the players, to find out more about how being active helped them reach their goals.
We can provide pathways into local clubs or hubs for those who wish to continue playing basketball after the session, taking into account the ability of the child to ensure that they enjoy themselves.
COST
Delivery for each school comes at a cost of £1000, covering the coach of six coaches, one team leader, venue hire, all equipment and transport for children.
All participants will receive a flyer with the sponsors logo and requested messaging, as well as information for Surrey Scorchers sessions and fixtures.
Sponsor recognition will also be displayed on Surrey Scorchers match days, in front of a crowd of 600-850 people. We can also produce additional branding such as t-shirts for all participants.
