Globe trotter Quin Cooper joins Surrey Scorchers ahead of the 2023/24 season from Finish side Korihait.
Cooper finished last season as Korihait’s three-point percentage leader in fantastic season in Finland for the swingman.
Originally from Louisiana, USA, Cooper began his professional career with Palestinian side Tubas Al Okhuwa in 2016. A quick visit home to the US in 2018 to play for Owensboro Thoroughbreds for a season, before he headed back across the pond to Europe.
The 6ft 6’’ shooter signed with Depiro B.C in Malta for the 2019/20 season, where he was the leading scorer (averaged 31.8 points per game) before the season was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A hop across to Germany next to play for TuS Red Devils, but his season was once again brought to an abrupt holt in February 2021 due to the country entering into a lockdown.
With sports slowly returning to normal running towards the back end of 2021, the feisty forward joined KB Vllaznia in the Albania Superliga and then moved further north to Dutch side Aris Leeuwarden for the 2021/22 season.
I am thankful for the opportunity to put on a Scorchers jersey for this upcoming season and am looking forward to a successful one on the court.
Quin Cooper
On of the big things we felt like we needed in the off season was consistency from the three-point line and that is something we now have with the addition of Quin. He has a great experience of playing across multiple leagues in Europe and has always produced. He plays with energy, is unselfish and with his scoring ability can help us win basketball games.
