Saiquan Jamison returns to Scorchers

Scorchers are delighted to announce the return of Saiquan Jamison for the 2023/24 season.

The American made the move to Surrey Sports Park from Finish sides PEU-Basket and Salon Vilpas ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Before picking up an injury in December 2021 and heading back to the US to recover, Jamison was the leading BBL rebounder with 14.8 per game. He then joined Portuguese side Vitoria SC in Division 1 for the 2022/23 season.

Standing at 6ft 8’, the intimidating forward averaged a monster 20 points and 20 rebounds a game in his first professional year.

Before turning pro Jamison spent his collegiate career at Bowie State, in his home state of Maryland. In his senior year he was just shy of his double-double professional average with 10 points and 9 rebounds per game.

I’m back! I can’t wait to be back at Surrey Sports Park. I’ll be putting 110% effort into making it a fantastic season. I can’t wait to get to work, to be with my teammates and I’m super excited to see the Scorchers fans again.

Saiquan Jamison

Saiquan was a fan favourite here and someone with multiple people still talk about his professionalism and character. Coaching against him in the league he was always a difficult match with his strength on the glass, and his ability to impact the game in many ways. We are delighted to welcome him back.
