TAYO SHAKES OFF COB WEBS

Tayo Ogedengbe was delighted to be back in action at Surrey Sports Park as the Scorchers All-Star select took on Bradley University.

The game came almost three months after Scorchers' 2017/18 season came to an end but the Scorchers captain was in good form.

Ogedengbe said: "It was good to get back out there on Home court, there few cob webs to shake off but nothing major."

With the Scorchers All-Star select containing some names from the past such as Martelle Mclemore and Michael Ochereobia, it took until the third quarter before they really got going.

"We had a good group of guys actually.

"Professionals and former players, but we had never played before so it was interesting at the start until we figured a few things outs."

While Scorchers couldn't quite get the win on the night, as Bradley saw out a 67-73 win, it was a good pre-season test for Ogedengbe.

"Bradley where great, very energetic, very high tempo and very well organised, I enjoyed the competition.

"Going into Pre-Season we are focused on getting the right guys together and working towards more success."

Tickets for Scorchers' 2018/19 BBL Championship fixtures go on sale on Friday 10th August at 12pm

Up first at Surrey Sports Park is the visit of 2017/18 Play-Off Quarter-Final opponents Glasgow Rocks on Saturday 22nd September at 7:00pm.
