Surrey Scorchers Announce Exciting Partnership with Mount Alvernia Hospital

Surrey Scorchers, one of the UK’s premier basketball teams, is thrilled to announce a partnership with Mount Alvernia Hospital, a distinguished healthcare institution that is part of the Circle Health Group.

This strategic alliance marks a significant milestone for the Scorchers as the team aims to support the players with the best level of care and support for the new 2023/24 British Basketball League campaign.

Mount Alvernia Hospital has been treating patients in the Guildford area for almost 90 years, providing outpatient, day-case and inpatient services across a range of specialities including orthopaedics, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements, general surgery, urology, women’s health, gastroenterology, gynaecology and dermatology.

As part of this partnership, Mount Alvernia Hospital will join forces with Surrey Scorchers to provide access to a range of specialist medical diagnostic and post-injury treatments, providing expert guidance and resources to team personnel ensuring their physical well-being remains a top priority.

The partnership will prominently feature the Mount Alvernia Hospital logo on Surrey Scorchers’ perimeter advertising, extending to offer public drop-in wellness clinics showcasing their commitment to the community’s health.

About Mount Alvernia Hospital:

Mount Alvernia Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, has been treating patients in the Guildford area for almost 90 years, providing outpatient, day-case and inpatient services across a range of specialities including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, women’s health, gastroenterology, gynaecology and dermatology.

The hospital’s Imaging department enables easy access to diagnostic scans (CT, MRI and mammography), x-rays, bone densitometry and nuclear medicine.

Alongside surgery, patients can also attend for private cancer care, physiotherapy and a sports injuries clinic, blood tests, women’s and men’s health checks.

Mount Alvernia’s private GPs offer 30-minute appointments and health assessments; they can easily refer onward to consultants in any speciality or – if it’s not covered at Mount Alvernia – to Circle Health Group’s other hospitals locally.
