Scorchers to take on London City Royals in BBL Trophy

Scorchers will welcome the London City Royals to Surrey Sports Park in the first round of the BBL Trophy.

Creon Raftopoulos and his team will take on Andrew Lawrence and the London outfit after the sides were paired together in a draw streamed live on the BBL Facebook page.

The tie is set to be played on the opening weekend of January – confirmation of dates and times will follow in due course.

The sides have already met three times this season, facing off in the BBL Cup and also at BBL All-Stars at the Copper Box.

While the Royals have come away victorious in each of the three meetings, Creon will hope his motivated team can cause an upset and spark a cup run.

Former Scorchers Elvisi Dusha and Will Neighbour will return to SSP once again in Royals uniform.

The four teams from outside the BBL taking part in this season’s BBL Trophy are the Worthing Thunder, Team Solent Kestrels, Basketball Wales and Dunfermline Reign.
