Scorchers to deliver free junior basketball coaching

Surrey Scorchers will deliver their first junior roadshow on Saturday 27th February, with over 50 kids expected to take part in free professional coaching.

Bohunt School, where Scorchers’ GB player Will Neighbour attended as a child, will play host to the free session as Scorchers look to inspire the next generation of professional players.

Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos said:  “When we set up this team last year one of our key focuses was delivering a strong basketball offering in the community, ensuring that people of all ages can get on court and play.

“These free sessions are really exciting because it means that there is no excuse for kids not to get involved and enjoy professional coaching with some of the UK’s top players.”

Kids in school years 5-8 can attend the 2 hour camps in Liphook, which will be delivered in conjunction with the Bohunt Bulldogs. Attendees need no previous basketball experience- all abilities are welcome.
