Surrey Scorchers is delighted to announce that Elias Desport has signed for the 2017/18 BBL season.
The 6”8 forward spent the previous season in Portugal for A. Desportiva San Joanense where he finished with a 13.2 ppg average.
Born in Sweden in 1992, Desport attended St Peter’s University in New Jersey where he featured in their NCAA roster between 2013 and 2016.
He has also represented his nation at youth level as part of the U18s side at the 2010 European Championships.
Desport joins Scorchers as the third signing of the summer and Coach Creon Raftopoulos is “extremely excited” to welcome him to Surrey
“He’s super athletic and his skills allow him to play multiple positions on the court so I think he’ll be a very exciting piece of the puzzle for us moving forward.”

British Basketball All-Stars Championships
Fans will get their first chance to watch Elias in action next season when he hits the court for Scorchers at the British Basketball All-Stars Championships at The O2 Arena!
Discounted tickets for the tournament are available now for £20 adults, £15 juniors.
