In a highly anticipated match between Surrey Scorchers and London Lions at the Copper Box, it was a battle between the top and bottom teams of the BBL league. However, it was the Scorchers who came out firing on all cylinders, with Padiet Wang leading the charge with an outstanding performance.
The travelling side dominated throughout the second and third quarters. Despite their best efforts, the Lions struggled to match the Scorchers’ intensity, and it looked like an upset could be on the cards.
However, the Scorchers ran out of steam in the final quarter, and the Lions capitalised on their fatigue to mount a remarkable comeback. The home team took control of the game, and ultimately claimed a thrilling victory that saw them secure the 2022/23 BBL league title.
