PREVIEW: VITAL DOUBLE-HEADER

Surrey Scorchers are set for another BBL double-header, looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2018.

Last week the Scorchers tamed the London Lions on New Year’s Day, before defeating the Leeds Force by 27 points in front of the BBC cameras.

Scorchers travel to the DBL Sharks Sheffield tomorrow night for the fourth meeting between the sides so far this season.

Scorchers defeated Sheffield 81-78 on the opening day of the season.

But Sheffield have won the previous two meetings, including eliminating Scorchers from the BBL Cup in November.
Scorchers return to Surrey Sports Park on Sunday when they entertain the Plymouth Raiders.

The only league meeting between the teams came in December when an inspired Jordan Williams carried Scorchers to an 85-80 road win.

Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos reiterated that the key for Scorchers is to perform well consistently.

“The key is going to be our consistency. I know the fans get frustrated, but nobody gets frustrated more than me when it comes to our consistency. It’s the most important thing for us.”

Scorchers head into the weekend fifth in the BBL standings, with Sheffield in seventh and the Plymouth Raiders tenth.

Wins in both games could see the Scorchers move back to a positive record on the season, as they currently are 8-9 in the league after 17 games.
