Glasgow Rocks sit sixth in the BBL Championship on 5-7. Sterling Davis’ men produced one of the best comebacks of the season to recover from five points down with 30 seconds to play before outlasting Sheffield Sharks in overtime last Friday.

A defeat against Esh Group Eagles followed, but confidence remains high in the Rocks campaign as they begin to discover the consistency that was lacking earlier in the campaign.

Last time they met:

Glasgow Rocks 96 Surrey 77 (BBL Championship, Emirates Arena, 15 April 2015)

Form:
Rocks: WLLWWL
Scorchers: LLWLLL

Three Points:
• Rocks’ Kieron Achara and Warren Gillis were named in the latest BBL All-Star Five
• Only Scorchers (4.75 per-game) are converting fewer three-point field goals per-game than Rocks (5.67)
• Scorchers start Tayo Ogedengbe spent last season with Rocks

What they say:

Scorchers guard Elvisi Dusha: “Glasgow are always a tough team, regardless of where they’re playing. We have not played them yet but I know coach has a structure he wants us to follow for that game. I know their captain Kieron Achara will heavily influence the squad, he's one to look out for.”

Rocks coach Sterling Davis: “I know Surrey are going some personnel changes, and have a brought a new point guard in [K.C. Ross-Miller], so we have to be prepared for that understand that any time a team brings in a new player, it gives them a natural boost.

“They will want to bounce back from a tough defeat against London too, so all of those things are going to work against us and we have to concentrate.

“Tayo (Ogedengbe) is one of the better all-round players we have in the league right now and he will be a focal point for them. They brought him in for that reason, and he has done a good job so far.

“We have to make sure we do a good job of containing him, his penetration is very good and he’s crafty around the basket so we need to try and limit his production without losing focus on the other guys, because they can all score too.”
