New signing Matthew Bryan-Amaning looks ahead to our double-header weekend against Plymouth and Leicester.
Our new signing made his debut in Sheffield last weekend – despite the loss he was encouraged by the performance.
He said: “It was good joining the guys – we’ve got a real talented team.
“I love the guys, we are very active offensively, I think the biggest thing for this team is getting stops and playing defence.
“When you are so talented offensively guys can sometimes take a back seat on the defensive end.
“After having lots of conversations with Creon, my role is going to be to keep the guys locked in on the defensive end.
“Personally I don’t think I had a good game (in Sheffield).
“We ended up losing which we weren’t happy about, but hopefully we will get two wins this weekend.”
MBA is relishing the chance of picking up two big wins in the upcoming double-header.
Previewing the match-ups, he said: “They (Plymouth and Leicester) are very similar.
“Leicester has the winning culture, they know what they’re doing, but Plymouth have made a couple of changes.
“Wilcher is back, Hassan is back, adding Will Neighbour is big for them.
“We’re going to have to guard both teams very similarly.
“With Plymouth we just need to try and keep Wilcher at bay.
“Then it’s kind of the same thing with Leicester.
“We have to be tough and try and get the stops on defence.
Looking forward to his home debut, MBA added: “Last season playing against you guys was a lot of fun.
“The crowd is very good, it gets very loud in here.
“I’ve been talking with Tayo, he’s been playing here for a few years and he loves it, he loves the atmosphere here game in and game out.
“Especially when you guys sell-out it gets very loud.
“I know a few guys will be travelling down from London to come and see me play.
“Hopefully I can come in and make some noise, and we can get the job done and get the W.”
