‘Sheffield are one of two potential BBL Cup semi-final opponents for the Scorchers…’
Surrey are looking forward to their BBL Cup semi-final date in December and being one of the last four teams left in the competition has given them a real boost this season. They’ll be hoping to transfer their cup progress into league form as the bid to make the play-offs becomes even more intense. Sheffield are one of two potential BBL Cup opponents for the Scorchers (the other being Glasgow Rocks), and both teams will see this as a good opportunity to scout out their possible semi-final opposition.
The two teams have already met in the league this season, with the Scorchers coming out 81-76 winners and while Sheffield will be out for revenge, they know it won’t be easy. The Sharks have made a solid start to their league campaign winning four and losing five, leaving them firmly midtable, the Scorchers, on the other hand, will be looking for a victory to keep them in the hunt for the play-offs.
Ones to watch
Scorchers
Home favourite and Captain Tayo Ogedengbe top scored with 25 when the Scorchers emphatically beat Worcester Wolves in the BBL Cup quarter-finals. While Quincy Taylor is another to look out for as he managed to pick up 18pts in that game.
Sheffield Sharks
Michael Tuck is the Sharks top scorer on 114pts so far this season, while Tony Wroblicky is another to keep an eye on as he currently sits on 101pts.
