Glasgow Rocks 86 Surrey Scorchers 93

Scorchers pick up a win on the road for the first time since November 2019 as they defeat the Glasgow Rocks 86-93 in front of the Sky cameras!

Five Surrey players scored in double figures in a much-improved display from Creon Raftopoulos’ side, including 20 points from Tayo Ogedengbe and 14 points from Emondre Rickman.

Scorchers started the game on the front foot with a strong start from Tayo and Rickman, but some sharp shooting from Rocks Player/Coach Gareth Murray.

A dominant display from Ryan Richards continued the high intensity from the Scorchers in the second quarter, but Christian Keeling and Murray continued to shoot well from behind-the-arc for Glasgow.

Despite trailing by three points at the break, Emondre Rickman took control of the game in the third quarter with an outstanding display inside the paint.

Tony Hicks and Connor Cashaw continued the push for Scorchers who led by three points heading into the final quarter.

A strong team defensive display in the fourth quarter extended the lead to double-digits, as Tony Hicks and Connor Cashaw controlled the game in the final few minutes to ensure Surrey travel home from Scotland with a win.

Creon Raftopoulos’ side move to 2-5 in the BBL Championship, and will travel to Leicester Riders on Sunday afternoon.
