Surrey Scorchers 94 Manchester Giants 90

Scorchers rallied back from a 17-point deficit to defeat the Manchester Giants at a packed Surrey Sports Park.

Creon’s side were trailing for the majority of the game, before his team flipped the game in the last five minutes to secure a fourth consecutive home win.

The visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck and led by 10 points after the first quarter.

They continued to control the game in the second quarter and took their double-digit deficit into the break.

But Scorchers wouldn’t lie down, and Devontavius Payne sparked a second half run for Creon’s side.

A flurry of baskets, including putting back his own three-point shot, set up a tense fourth quarter at SSP.

But Creon’s side were up to the challenge – and clutch baskets from Lovell Cook and Uno Payne tied up the game for Surrey.

After getting a stop on defence, a Caylin Raftopoulos three raised the roof off Surrey Sports Park – as Scorchers entered 2020 in the best possible fashion.

Scorchers move up to third in the BBL standings with a 3-1 record.

We are back in action at SSP on Sunday afternoon as we host the London City Royals in the BBL Trophy.
