Surrey Scorchers 87 Newcastle Eagles 67

Scorchers returned to winning ways with an emphatic win against Newcastle Eagles at SSP!

 

Tayo Ogedengbe poured in 23 points while Tony Hicks added 16 points and 11 assists to rally Surrey back into the win column.

 

Scorchers started the game strongly as Hicks and Ogedengbe were scoring at will.

 

Evan Maxwell struggled inside as Lacey James forced him into a poor 1-6 field goals to begin the game.

 

Scorchers extended their lead into double-digits in the second quarter as Ogedengbe scored back-to-back triples.

 

Creon Raftopoulos’ side continued to pull away in the second half as Hicks and Lacey James continued their impressive offensive display.

 

Martelle McLemore and Connor Cashaw forced multiple stops on the defensive end as Surrey led by 18 points heading into the final quarter.

 

The game was done and dusted heading into the final minutes as Hicks and James ensured the win was staying at SSP.

 

Scorchers returned to winning ways with an impressive 87-67 victory.
