Scorchers defeated the Glasgow Rocks 87-79 to continue their unbeaten run at home.

The home side took control in the first half and never looked back as the team continued their red hot start to 2018.

The match was the third and final time the teams meet this season, with Scorchers winning the season series 2-1.

Tony Hicks lead the team to victory once more with 28 points and nine assists.

Gerald Robinson followed with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Scorchers stormed out to an early lead behind an inspired defensive performance, holding the Rocks to just 15 points.

A three-point barrage from Scorchers extended their lead further in the second quarter, leading 46-30 at the half-time interval.

Glasgow’s Kofi Josephs pulled the Rocks back into the game in the second half, cutting the lead to ten points with a quarter to play.

But the Scorchers held firm and Tony Hicks took control on offence while Gerald Robinson halted the Rocks on defense. Their big performances in the final period helped Scorchers to their fourth successive home victory.

The win moves Scorchers up to a 10-10 record so far this season, pushing up the BBL standings into 4th, while the Rocks remain 3rd.
