Having lost at home to Manchester Giants in the BBL cup last weekend, Surrey Scorchers were hoping to redeem themselves in their final home game before December.
However, it was not to be, as it was the Sharks who managed to maintain composure throughout what was a scrappy battle between the two teams.
Coming off the back of another win on the road against the Worcester Wolves two days prior, it was Sharks’ Christopher Alexander who seemed unstoppable, finishing the game with 20 points and 6 assists.
Scorchers never seemed to get off the mark, falling 6-13 down within minutes of tip-off and consequently couldn’t regain the lead for the remainder of the game.
Despite Captain, Tayo Ogedengbe and Point Guard, Quincy Taylor scoring 20 points a-piece, it wasn’t enough for the home team.
Q3 was the chance of a turning point in the game, as the Surrey side managed to draw level with the visitors, but the Sharks were quick to put out Scorchers’ spark, denying the crowd of any late comeback.
With a win-loss record of 2-6, it’s back to the drawing board for Creon Raftopoulos’ side as they head into a two-week break.
Surrey Scorchers will return to Surrey Sports Park on the 8th of December, as they take on local rivals London Lions. Click here to buy your tickets.
