Surrey Scorchers recorded a dramatic 82-81 victory over the Newcastle Eagles for their tenth home win in-a-row.

Tony Hicks made 2 free-throws with less than three seconds on the clock in front of the FreeSports cameras.

Hicks top-scored with 24 points while Josh Steel added 13 and Levi Noel added 12 points.

It was a strong start to the game from both sides, and Caylin Raftopoulos nailed a three-point-shot with 30 seconds to go to take a 26-24 into the first break.

Eagles hit back in the second-quarter as the likes of Amarjit Basi and Darius Defoe combined as Eagles led 47-42 at half-time.

Eagles went from strength-to-strength as the second-half begun, and opened up a 13-point lead.

Scorchers fought back as Raftopoulos and Noel helped Scorchers take a 65-63 lead into the final quarter.

As the sides traded points throughout the final quarter, it was Hicks who was fouled with less than three seconds remaining and he made 2 out of 2 to give Scorchers a dramatic late win.
