Surrey Scorchers 79 Bristol Flyers 99

Scorchers were defeated by the Bristol Flyers in our final game before Christmas.

All five Bristol starters ended the game in double-figures, while GB Point Guard Teddy Okereafor was two rebounds shy of a triple-double.

Scorchers big man Ryan Richards exploded into life in the first quarter with 8 quick fire points.

But Okereafor and the Flyers quickly gained control of the game and ran away to a 28-19 lead in the opening ten minutes.

Connor Cashaw made some impressive plays in the second quarter, but Daniel Edozie and Marcus Delpeche controlled the rebounding battle for Bristol, giving them a comfortable lead at the break.

Scorchers improved their performance in the second half as Evan Walshe and Skyler White proved to be bright sparks from the bench.

But Bristol remained comfortable with their lead as some impressive ball movement led to high percentage shots.

Eric Lockett took over for the Flyers in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to over 20 points.

Both teams were in foul trouble in the final quarter which prolonged the Scorchers suffering, before the game eventually was won by the Flyers 99-79.

Scorchers are back in action on Monday 28th December as we travel to the Worcester Wolves in the BBL Championship.
