Surrey Scorchers advance to the Quarter-Finals of the BBL Trophy thanks to a debut game winner from Cameron Hildreth!
The visiting Cavaliers battled all the way to the very end, but it was the 18-year-old debutant who had the final say with a game-winning shot with 0.6 seconds to play!
The GB international led the scoring for the Scorchers with 22 points!
Thames Valley started the game strongly with some big threes from Lewis Champion and Taylor Johnson.
Cameron Hildreth and Caylin Raftopoulos checked into the game for the Scorchers and their fortunes quickly turned.
The young star knocked down back-to-back threes to bring the Scorchers back into the opening quarter.
An impressive second quarter from Connor Cashaw and Tony Hicks gave Scorchers a three-point lead at the half.
Thames Valley came back fighting in the second half led by Johnson and Kai Williams, with both teams trading baskets.
Heading into the fourth quarter Thames Valley ran away to a seven-point lead.
But Hildreth and Cashaw brought the Scorchers back into the game, setting the contest up for a grand-stand finish.
Cameron Hildreth knocked down an and-one three pointer with 20 seconds to play to narrow the deficit to one point, before a steal from Connor Cashaw gave Scorchers the lead.
A huge jumpshot from Taylor Johnson re-gained the lead for the Cavaliers with eight seconds to play.
But up stepped Hildreth once more to score a game winner with 0.6 seconds remaining in the game!
