Scorchers to work in partnership with Suns WBBL

Surrey Scorchers is pleased to announce they will be working in partnership with WBBL side Sevenoaks Suns ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Suns have already been playing their home matches at Surrey Sports Park, and the relationship between the two clubs has now been taken forward to a new level with this agreement.

The new arrangement will see Scorchers support the growth of women’s basketball in UK by selling tickets for Suns’ home games at the Sports Park in partnership with the Kent-based side.

Commenting on the news, Surrey Sports Park Managing Director Gavin Baker said: “It is fantastic that we have established this partnership with Suns and I am excited to see how the two clubs can work together to further progress the women’s game in the area.

“The continued development of the WBBL has shown that women’s basketball can be a huge growth area in the UK, and we are looking forward to contributing to this by helping Suns reach a wider audience.”

Suns Head Coach Len Busch said: “Suns are very excited to be working more closely with Scorchers and Surrey Sports Park to bring the excitement of Women’s basketball to the Guildford area. We look forward to becoming a presence in the community and providing great entertainment on game days.”
