Surrey Scorchers are delighted to announce the signing of Kalil Irving for the remainder of the 2017/18 BBL season.
Irving previously played for Scorchers during the 2016/17 season and will be available for selection for Sunday’s game with Cheshire Phoenix.
The forward spent three seasons with the Worcester Wolves between 2012 and 2016 and was part of the side who won the BBL Play-Offs and the BBL Trophy in 2014.
With a number of vital games coming up, Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos has strengthened the side to enhance their play-off push.
Raftopoulos said; “I’m really excited to have him back, it’s one of these where you know what you’re getting so hopefully all goes well.
“Kalil knows all our offences, what style of basketball we play so it will be a really easy transition for him to help out the team.
Irving has been representing the Kent Crusaders in NBL Division One so far this season, and has already played alongside Tayo Ogedengbe and Jordan Williams during his time with Scorchers and also Alex Owumi and Caylin Raftopoulos from his time with Worcester Wolves.
“The fact he is fit and ready to go made it easy for me.” said the Scorchers Head Coach.
“He’s also a team player so he’s not expecting to come in and play a thousand minutes, he just wants to do whatever needs to be done to help us in our Play-Off push.”
