Surrey Scorchers are delighted to announce the signing of British Forward Ryan Martin who joins the Scorchers for the remainder of the season.
Martin joins the Scorchers ahead of the teams BBL Sky game this Friday 4th November in Newcastle against the Eagles.
As the Surrey side hunt for their first win of the season Martin joins the team with a wealth of experience previously playing in Europe and most recently with the London Lions last season.
After a season out due to injury Martin signed with Lions for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign averaging 8 points and 3 rebounds driving the team to the play-off finals.
Excited to be returning to the league Martin commented “I am looking forward to joining the Scorchers and returning to the BBL. Watching this team so far, I believe this squad has big potential which I want to be a part of.
Lloyd is a great coach, and the guys have full trust in him, I hope the experience and leadership I bring with me continues to add value and we can get some wins for the Surrey fans”.
Head Coach Lloyd Gardner commented: “Ryan is a player we have been looking to add to our roster. His experience, presence and leadership with our group is something we have been missing.
Ryan will be able to help us scoring and rebounding the ball and be looking to prove he is back to the level of player he was prior to his injury”.
