Surrey Scorchers Basketball is pleased to announce the launch of its brand new youth academy in partnership with Three Rivers Academy.
The team will play in the ABL (Academy Basketball League), allowing players to still complete for other clubs.
Scorchers Director of Basketball and Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos said: ” It was an opportunity we could not turn down when we were approached about working with Three Rivers. The academy will play an important role in the pathway for young male players to reach BBL level, offering opportunities for players to develop their game alongside our professional team.”
There is also hopes of running a ladies team should there be interest, so we are also reaching out to ambitious young female players who want to get involved.
An expression of interest day will be held on Sunday 25th June at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford, where parents and players can meet the coaches and academic staff from Three Rivers Academy and ask questions about the programme at the following times:
(Ages 16- 19)
Girls – 16:00 – 17:00
Boys – 17:00 – 19:00
Presentations will also be delivered by Three Rivers Academy in the World Cup Suite (access via Starbucks) from 16:00 – 20:00.
