Surrey Scorchers is delighted to announce the launch of its brand new junior basketball programme to kick off in 2016.
As part of the club’s commitment to developing basketball from grassroots through to professional, a new junior drop-in session will kick off in January followed by the first ever holiday camps in February.
This launch comes off the back of two fully booked Game Day Junior Camps already held this season, with a 3rd to take place before the Worcester Wolves game on Saturday 2nd January.
All sessions will be delivered by the Scorchers players and coaches, meaning kids get top quality basketball coaching at the home of Surrey’s very own BBL franchise.
Scorchers Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos said: “We are really excited to get our junior programme up and running in the New Year. There are some really talented kids in the area and it is important that we give them access to high quality coaching.
“The future of basketball in the UK is as important as the current, and we have some exciting plans to ensure that young players are nurtured from the start to build a sustainable future for the sport.”
To celebrate the launch, we are giving away free tickets to the BBL game on Sunday 14th February against the Plymouth Raiders to all kids who book onto one of our Feb Half Term Camps before 31st December*.
Each child will be given one free ticket to the game- perfect inspiration before the camps taking place the following week!
