Draws for both the BBL Cup and BBL Trophy were completed today as Scorchers found out who they would face in the seasons’ knock-out competitions.
Scorchers will host the Manchester Giants in the first round of the BBL Cup, to be hosted between the 26th-28th October.
Speaking on the draw, Creon Raftopoulos said: “I feel that at this stage nobody knows how strong people are going to be, but obviously having a home draw for the cup against Manchester Giants is good for us.
“We finished the season strong at home so we want our home court to be as much of a fortress as it was last season.”
The draw for the quarter-finals sees Scorchers travel to either Cheshire Phoenix or DBL Sharks Sheffield if successful in the first round.
The tie will be played on Sunday 28th October, with a 2pm tip-off.
The BBL Trophy Draw, which is now conducted using a bracket system (see at bottom of article), sees Creon Raftopoulos’ side travel to Worthing Thunder in the first round.
The tie will be played between 21-23 December, with full fixture details to be confirmed.
The Scorchers Head Coach said: “Trip the Worthing Thunder is a bit of a derby game, I don’t think it will be easy but until we know who they’ve recruited and how strong our team is, we’ll deal with it when we get to December.”
