Return of the Dragon

Surrey’s favourite mascot Scorcher the Dragon will return for the 2015/16 British Basketball League season!

Following a two year break, which was mostly spent either sitting in his cave toasting marshmallows with his firey breath or travelling the world watching basketball matches in different countries, the legendary Scorcher is coming back to Guildford to show his support for the new club.

Scorcher put pen to paper earlier today after impressing Scorchers bosses in an interview last week, showing off his dunking skills in his usual charismatic style.

“I just can’t wait to get back on court,” he said after signing. “It’s been a long time coming.”

“Surrey have the best basketball fans in the whole of the BBL and I cannot wait to see them all again, and meet all the new faces!”

Fans will get the chance to welcome Scorcher back to Surrey Sports Park when Surrey host the Newcastle Eagles on Friday 25th September (7.30pm tip-off) for the first home game of the season. Tickets are on sale now – click here for information.
