Quincy Taylor returns to Scorchers

Surrey Scorchers is delighted to announce the signing of Quincy Taylor for the 2018/19 BBL Championship season.  The point-guard represented Scorchers in the 2016/17 season and was the recipient of the fans’ MVP award.

After representing UAB Blazers and Longwood Lancers at College Level, the American had a brief spell in the BBL with Cheshire Phoenix prior to joining Scorchers.

Averaging 15.82 points-per-game, as well as 3.39 rebounds-per-game and 1.52 steals-per-game in 16/17, Taylor is a huge favourite with the fans’ at Surrey Sports Park home of the Scorchers.

Speaking this morning, Taylor said: “I can’t wait to play at Surrey Sports Park in front of the Scorchers fans again, they showed us such great support throughout the entire season.”

Joining Scorchers captain Tayo Ogedengbe, Taylor is Coach Creon Raftopoulos’ second signing for the 2018/19 season, with plenty more on the way.

“I’ve spoken to the Coach and understand his goals for the season, and I want to be a part of that. I know we can achieve great things, so I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to get back out on court.”

Scorchers head into the season following an 11-game winning run on home court and have a number of new partners to share in the excitement of the season ahead, including Merrist Wood College who are the official sponsor of Quincy Taylor for the season ahead.

“It’s great to have a local college support for the upcoming season.

“Coming through the College system, education was a huge part of my route into basketball so I’m glad we can raise awareness for such a fantastic college.”
