Surrey Scorchers travel to Yorkshire for a Friday night clash with the Leeds Force (7.30pm tip-off) tomorrow as they go in search of their 3rd win of the season.
Leeds Force vs Surrey Scorchers
Friday 9th October 2015
Leeds Force, formerly Leeds Carnegie, made their breakthrough into the BBL last season following six seasons in the EBL Division 1, securing an 11th place finish during their debut season with 10 wins.
The Yorkshire outfit enjoyed two wins in their three meetings against Surrey last season, including a thrilling 3 point victory at Surrey Sports Park in March.
The Ones to Watch
Former Plymouth small forward Louis Sayers signed for the Force this summer, following two seasons in the BBL with the Riders, bringing over 60 games of experience to the Force roster.
Kwan Waller made an impressive debut for Leeds last weekend, posting 17 points in their first win of the season, while guard D’Andre Bullard will make his own debut after arriving in the UK this week as a 12.2 ppg averaging Viriginia Union graduate.
With both Elvisi Dusha and Desmond Lee departing this week, Coach Creon will be calling upon other players in the squad to fill in the point guard position, with veteran Lekan Popoola looking like a vital back-up for Friday’s game.
Leeds picked up their first win of the season last weekend when they defeated the Bristol Flyers 71-68 at the Carnegie Sports Arena, putting an end to their winless start to the season.
Scorchers will go into the trip full of confidence after a nail-biting dying seconds win at Surrey Sports Park last Friday, sending the Manchester Giants home with their first loss of the campaign.
Force currently sit bottom of the BBL form table, with Scorchers riding higher in 9th.
