Surrey Scorchers are back in action this Sunday following a two week break when they welcome the Bristol Flyers to Surrey Sports Park for a 3.30pm tip-off.

The Opposition

Bristol Flyers made their own BBL debut last season, nipping into the play-offs with an 8th place finish as well as an impressive run into the BBL Cup semi-finals.

Molten's BBL Coach of the Year Andreas Kapoulas has brought back the core of the roster that produced last season's solid finish with a view to continuing the young club's impressive developments on and off court.

The Ones to Watch

Cardell Mcfarland sits 3rd in the top average points scorers so far this season, hitting a 20.6ppg average which Scorchers will need to take seriously if they are to stop him in his tracks on Sunday. Doug Mclaughin-Williams is also potting well from the 3 point zone, notching a 47.5% success rate so far this season.

Power forward Tyrone Lee will also be a handful having scored more than 15 points in all three of his appearances for Flyers since signing in October.

The Roster

Following his injury sustained against the Plymouth Raiders a fortnight ago, Henry Wilkins will miss Sunday’s game while he continues to make a steady recovery and will be gradually recommencing training after medical clearance soon.

Other than Henry, Coach Creon will have a full roster to choose from for the game.

The Form

Two back-to-back defeats didn’t stop Scorchers from returning with a final quarter comeback to take a win over Plymouth Raiders last time out, with captain Tayo Ogedengbe securing the victory with a show-stopping dunk in the dying moments of the game.

Flyers head into the game with a run of two straight victories to give them confidence, with narrow wins over both Raiders and Manchester Giants on successive weekends, allowing them to overlook a shaky start to the season.
