Plymouth Raiders complete the double over Surrey Scorchers in BBL Cup Group 1, as Creon’s side are resoundingly beaten in Devon.
The Raiders came out firing in the second quarter and never looked back, pulling away to a convincing 30-point lead by the final stages.
Rashad Hassan led the Scorchers in scoring with 15 points against his former club.
The game started as a low scoring affair as both sides struggled to knock down shots in the opening ten minutes.
Raiders narrowly led the game by two points after the first quarter.
But the home team stepped up in the second quarter, and a dominant display from Center Prince Ibeh saw the Raiders pull away to a double-digit lead at half time.
Scorchers meanwhile struggled to get the ball in the basket during the second period, and were held to just 13 points.
Plymouth continued their assertive display in the third quarter, as former Solent Kestrel Elliot Sentence dominated for Paul James’ side.
Creon Raftopoulos could only stand and watch as the Raiders notched 33 points in the third quarter alone.
With the game all but over heading into the fourth quarter, Captain Tayo Ogedengbe and veteran Rashad Hassan continued to battle hard for the Scorchers, but it was too little too late.
Plymouth complete the double over Scorchers in BBL Cup Group 1 with a resounding 98-62 victory.
Scorchers are back in action on Saturday as we host the Worcester Wolves at Surrey Sports Park.
