Plymouth Raiders 106 Surrey Scorchers 82

Scorchers couldn’t build on Sunday’s victory against Worcester as we were beaten 106-82 by the Plymouth Raiders.

Creon Raftopoulos’ side fell behind to a strong Plymouth team in the opening quarter, and couldn’t reduce the deficit.

Plymouth took an early lead as Ricky McGill continued his impressive form.

Tayo Ogedengbe knocked down three triples in the opening quarter to keep Surrey within touching distance at the end of the opening quarter.

Scorchers continued to battle in the second quarter as Hicks and Hildreth carried the load for Surrey.

Despite their best efforts, Raiders led by ten points at the half-time interval.

Tony Hicks continued his strong performance in the third quarter, but ten straight points from Plymouth Guard Mike Morsell poured in ten straight points to keep the home team firmly in the driving seat.

The Raiders pulled away in the final quarter as Scorchers struggled to get the ball through the basket.

Plymouth took the comfortable 106-82 win on their home floor, as Surrey will travel home and prepare for a trip to the London Lions on Friday night.
