Surrey Scorchers are delighted to announce Wake Forest commit Cameron Hildreth has joined the team for the remainder of the 2020/2021 BBL Championship campaign!

The 18-year-old is the number one UK prospect from the class of 2021, having already committed to play NCAA Division One basketball at Wake Forest University in the ACC next season.

He now makes the step up to the BBL to continue his development and preparation under the tutelage of Creon Raftopoulos ahead of his move Stateside.

Hildreth joins Scorchers from Worthing Thunder in NBL Division One where he has played for the past two seasons.

During the 2019/2020 NBL season, Cameron averaged 20 points, six rebounds and three assists as a 17-year-old.

His impressive displays both with Worthing, and also with Holy Trinity Storm in the ABL earned him a call-up to the GB Men’s squad for Eurobasket Qualifiers in November 2020.

He has once again been selected in the initial 24-man roster for the upcoming GB qualifiers against France and Germany.

Hildreth joins American Guards Tony Hicks and Connor Cashaw in the Scorchers backcourt, who both played NCAA D1 basketball.

He also links up fellow Brit Evan Walshe in the Scorchers backcourt, as once more Creon Raftopoulos provides an opportunity to a home-grown prospect.
