Surrey Scorchers GB star Will Neighbour will be unavailable for selection for the remainder of the 2015/16 British Basketball League season after undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury today.
The former GB under 20 player has been training and playing through considerable discomfort for a number of weeks and will now face months on the side lines while recovering from an operation to correct the problem.
Neighbour has made 11 appearances for Scorchers this season, scoring 16 points in his first two games of the season back in September.
The injury proved pivotal in early November when he was forced to sit out of the majority for Scorchers home loss against the Bristol Flyers, pulling up with the shoulder problem just 3 minutes into the tie.
Neighbour will continue his rehabilitation programme with the support of the Scorchers performance team.
Everyone at Surrey Scorchers wishes Will a smooth recovery and thanks him for his commitment to the club so far this year. We will be following Will during his rehab in the New Year and looking forward to him getting back on court for the Scorchers in the future.
