Loveridge signs for Scorchers

Former Surrey Heat junior Jacob Loveridge is the 9th player to sign for Surrey Scorchers ahead of the 2015/16 British Basketball League (BBL) season.

Loveridge signed for the Heat Juniors back in 2007 at the age of 14, featuring in the BBL squad on numerous occasions, before leaving for the US in 2011 to play for the Southern Maine Community College Sea Wolves.

The 22 year old returned to the UK for the 2014/15 season to join the Thames Valley Cavaliers, but will now once again link up with Coach Creon Raftopoulos to continue his player development and career.

Following his signing, Loveridge said: “I am excited to be back home playing for Coach Creon and the Scorchers.
“I am focused on improving my level of play and am excited to see what the season has in store for myself and the team.”

Coach Creon said: “I recognised Jacob as a promising talent when he featured for Heat Juniors and in our BB squad. It’s great to have him back training and playing at Surrey Sports Park once again.”

Fans can catch Jacob and the rest of the squad in action this Saturday when Scorchers host the Westminster Warriors in a pre-season friendly at Surrey Sports Park (tip-off 7pm). Click here for more information.
