Surrey Scorchers are delighted to announce Lovell Cook has re-signed for a second season with the club.
The 30-year-old joined the Scorchers last season ahead of the BBL Championship campaign, and quickly became a key player in Creon Raftopoulos’ rotation.
Before the season was brought to a halt, Cook was the fourth leading scorer in the BBL, averaging 19 points per game.
Cook, from New Orleans, Louisiana, has a wealth of BBL experience, having previously suited up for the London Lions and Bristol Flyers.
He now returns to Surrey Sports Park to handle unfinished business with the Scorchers, where he will be teaming up with Captain Tayo Ogedengbe, and new signing Rashad Hassan.
Delighted to be returning, he said: “I’m excited to have the opportunity to come back to the Scorchers, especially after how last season ended.
“I’m excited to have a new start, I feel like we made a lot of big strides last season.
“I feel like I fit into Creon’s system, I feel super comfortable.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos added: “Once again this is an important signing for us.
“When Lovell came in late last season he showed what he was capable of.
“I see him as a professional scorer, and I would expect that not to change.
“I’m sure the fans will be delighted to have him back, as am I.
“It’s a different year, so I felt trying to get experienced players who wants to be part of our organisation was a key focus.
“Lovell ticks all the boxes, and he loves being in Surrey.”
