London Lions 98 Surrey Scorchers 87

A depleted Scorchers side fought until the very end, but it was Lions who move on to the BBL Cup quarter-finals.

James Hawthorne led the way for Creon’s side with 25 points but it wasn’t enough to steal the win.

Scorchers started strongly and it was Hawthorne leading the way with 10 quick points.

Ryan Richards unfortunately picked up an injury which narrowed the team down to just six players.

Lions took advantage of this in the second quarter and led the way 51-43.

Skyler White came out on fire in the second half draining back-to-back threes, before Marcus White took over with six quick points.

Hawthorne continued his scoring outburst, but the thin Scorchers line-up were beaten 98-87 by our London rivals.
