London Lions make it a 2-0 start to the season with a convincing win over Surrey Scorchers at the Copper Box Arena.

Leading Scorers – Flannigan 19, Robinson 15, Latinovic 13 (Lions) – Ogedengbe 18, Owumi 16, Robinson 13 (Scorchers)

Turning Point – The Lions never trailed in the contest, but Surrey were only three down late in the first before back-to-back triples gave the hosts the momentum into a dominant second before leading by 33 at one stage.

Key Stat – The depth of the Lions told with their bench outscoring Surrey 37-18, while their ball movement resulted in 24 assists, shooting 55% from the field.

Game Hero(es) – Demonte Flannigan top scored again with 19 points, Brandon Peel impressed off the bench with 11 points on 5-6 shooting along with a team-high six rebounds, while Moritz Lanegger handed out nine assists.

Scorchers are back on the road this Sunday when they face the Cheshire Phoenix in a 5.30pm tip-off.
