London Lions 107 Surrey Scorchers 98

Scorchers were beaten by Ovie Soko and the London Lions at the Copper Box.

Despite a terrific comeback in the second half, including a 34-point display from Skyler White, the Lions held on to maintain their position at the top of the BBL standings.

It was the home team that took control of the game early – as back-to-back MVP Justin Robinson and Soko carried Lions to a 38-25 lead.

They didn’t stop pounding the ball inside in the second quarter, and had a commanding 23-point lead at the break.

But Creon’s team didn’t go down without a fight, and Skyler White and Lovell Cook led an impressive comeback for Scorchers.

The away team reduced the lead to 13 points heading into the final period.

Foul trouble effected both teams, as Justin Robinson fouled out for London, while James Hawthorne, Skyler White and Lovell Cook fouled out for Surrey.

Despite reducing the lead to as little as seven points, it was too little too late and London took the win in front of their home crowd.

Scorchers are back in action tomorrow night as we host the Plymouth Raiders at SSP!
