Kalil Returns

Surrey Scorchers are happy to announce the re-signing of Kalil Irving for the remainder of the 2018/19 BBL season. Irving will be a familiar face to most of the Surrey Scorchers squad, having featured on the roster the past two seasons.

Following a tough start to the season, the team are looking to bounce back this Sunday, November 18, against Glasgow Rocks at the Emirates Arena.

Kalil will be available for selection ahead of Sunday, and Coach Raftopoulos hopes he will add strength to the squad heading into 2019.

Raftopoulos said: “with our injury situation not improving and waiting for the arrival of Demario’s replacement, we needed an experienced player who knows our system and will fit straight in.

“We know what we’re getting with him and he knows what we’re about, so it will be good to have him back on our roster.”

Irving has previously represented BBL team Worcester Wolves and more recently Kent Crusaders in NBL Division One.

Head Coach Raftopoulos went onto say, “Kalil is the ultimate team guy on and off the court and I have no doubt in my mind that he will help improve our team defensively as well as rebounding.”
