Surrey Scorchers can confirm that Timothy ‘TJ’ Johnson has left the club.
The 6’3” George Washington graduate signed in January to fill a vacant non-EU import spot at Scorchers and made 6 appearances in the BBL Championship and Trophy, scoring an average of 7.2ppg.
Fans will remember Timothy’s huge dunk away at London Lions last month, which was watched on social media by basketball fans across the world and aided Scorchers towards an impressive final quarter comeback for their first league win of 2016.
Johnson was also active in Scorchers’ community programme, including appearing at the first ever junior roadshow in Liphook last weekend.
TJ’s departure makes way for Mike Anderson’s arrival, who was announced as Scorchers’ latest signing earlier this week.
Scorchers hit the road for a BBL Championship double-header this weekend, with away games at Leicester Riders and Cheshire Phoenix ahead.
