Surrey Scorchers is delighted to welcome former Worcester Wolves forward Kalil Irving to the club ahead of the 2016/17 British Basketball League season.
The 24-year-old spent 3 seasons with Wolves, where he combined his playing career with a degree in marketing at the University of Worcester, before playing for Sarzana in Italy last year.
Kalil formed part of the Worcester squad that secured the BBL title in the2013/14 season, featuring in the starting 5 24 times across the year and bagging a 5 points per game average.
Irving’s BBL experience, spanning a total of 116 games in all British competitions, will prove vital in Creon Raftopoulous’ roster this season as the Scorchers coach looks to mix experience with exciting young players.
Kalil joins Scorchers captain Tayo Ogedengbe in the roster, with more signing news expected next week as Coach Creon continues to rebuild his squad ready for the start of the 2016/17 BBL season.
Scorchers host rivals the London Lions in the opening round of the season on Saturday 24th September, in a game that is set to kick off the season with a bang!
