Recap

A game of runs fell in Bristol’s favour, as Scorchers were made to pay for their slow start.

The Flyers raced out to a 15-0 lead, while Scorchers struggled out of the gate and were held to just 14 points in the opening quarter.

The second quarter was a different story Creon Raftopoulos’ team as Scorchers  they dominated the close of the half.

Marcus White kick-started the Scorchers offence with 6 quick points, before huge blocks by James Hawthorne and Skyler White energised the Scorchers defence.

Skyler then turned defence into offence with back-to-back triples, which sparked a 14-0 run which reduced the lead to eight at the break.

Scorchers went into the break down 30-38, working hard to fight back from a 22-point deficit.

It was the home team who started the second half strongest, as Henry Wilkins rallied the crowd and scored multiple baskets to reduce the deficit.

But yet another run from Bristol extended the lead back to 11 at the end of the third period.

A triple from Caylin Raftopoulos and an incredible alley-oop to Tayo Ogedengbe helped reduce the lead to four points with minutes to play.

But Bristol stood firm to hold on and win the game 71-64.

The 15-0 start for Bristol was too much to come back from for Scorchers despite their best efforts.
