Dusha and Lee depart

Surrey Scorchers can confirm that Elvisi Dusha and Desmond Lee have left the club.

Former Surrey United captain Dusha, who was in his 3rd season in the BBL, has flown to Dusseldorf today to continue his career in Germany after being made an offer by a club in Germany.

Following his ethic of allowing players the chance to better themselves and their careers, Coach Creon did not want to stand in Elvisi’s way when the offer came in: “He has made a great start to the season and is a bright young talent.

“I would never stand in the way of a player who has the chance to develop further and wants to explore opportunities. We wish Elvisi all the best in his future career and thank him for his hard work and commitment to the club.”

US import Desmond Lee arrived in the UK shortly before Scorchers home debut against the Newcastle Eagles, and departs having scored two vital free throws on Friday evening to seal a win against the Manchester Giants for family reasons.

“I would like to thank Desmond for his contribution in his short time at Scorchers and wish him good luck in his career.”

With spots now open in the roster, Coach Creon is working hard on recruiting new signings ahead of this weekend’s round of BBL Championship fixtures, with a number of options already on the cards.

Scorchers are back in action this Friday when they travel to Yorkshire to face Leeds Force (7.30pm tip-off).
