Bowie signs for Scorchers

Surrey Scorchers is delighted to welcome US import Jay Bowie to the club ahead of the 2016/17 British Basketball League (BBL) season.

The 6’5” shooting guard/small forward played for Marist College for four seasons in the States, notching a 12.1 point and 5.2 rebound per game average in his final year with the Red Foxes.

Bowie made a brief appearance in the NBA Development League with the Delaware 87ers after graduating, before signing for moving to Australia to feature for the Goldfields Giants in the State Basketball League where he took MVP honours during the 2015 season.

Jay moved to the Willetton Tigers for the 2016 season, where he stole the show in March thanks to a career high of 45 points in their win over the Stirling Senators.

Bowie becomes Coach Creon’s fourth signing of the summer and he continues his rebuilding of the Scorchers roster.

Tickets for Surrey’s first home game of the season against the London Lions are on sale now. Click here for more information and to buy online.
