Bowie departs Scorchers

Surrey Scorchers can confirm that US import Jay Bowie has left the club.

Bowie, who made 14 appearances for Scorchers since signing during the pre-season period, secured an 8.86ppg average in 9 starts.

Following his release, Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos said: “Jay is a great professional and has a good career ahead of him. Unfortunately due to a string of knocks and injuries we need cover and someone bigger in the forward positions.

“I would like to thank Jay for his hard work with us since the start of the season.”

Everyone at Surrey Scorchers wishes Jay the best in his future basketball career.

Coach Creon has this week confirmed that he has a number of options lined up for Bowie’s replacement, with hopes of securing a new signing ready for the New Year’s Day game at home to the London Lions.
