Surrey Scorchers are pleased to announce a partnership with Women’s British Basketball League franchise Sevenoaks Suns, which will see the Suns play selected WBBL matches ahead of Scorchers home BBL matches at Surrey Sports Park.

WBBL fixtures were announced last week for what promises to be an exciting season, and Scorchers fans who arrive early on selected home match nights will get the chance to watch Sevenoaks Suns in action for free before watching Scorchers.

Len Busch, Head Coach of Sevenoaks Suns, said: “Suns are thrilled to be partnering with Surrey Scorchers for the upcoming WBBL season.  Surrey Sports Park is a fantastic sports venue and we're hoping to see a good turnout for our double-headers with the Scorchers.”

Gavin Baker, Surrey Scorchers Franchise Director, said: “Forming this partnership with Sevenoaks and hosting some of the Suns’ WBBL games this season offers a great opportunity to showcase elite level women’s basketball to Surrey fans.

“The WBBL is a natural fit alongside our ongoing support and development of female elite sport, adding to our already growing list of teams that we support including Surrey Storm Netball, England Rugby Women’s Sevens, Fulham Foundation Women and England Women’s Lacrosse.”

In total Surrey Sports Park will host four Surrey Scorchers / Sevenoaks Suns double headers throughout the upcoming seasons.

Sevenoaks Suns will first take on Cardiff Met Archers at Surrey Sports Park ahead of Surrey Scorchers v Plymouth Raiders on Saturday 24 October.

The Suns will then be back in Guildford on Saturday 28 November to take on City of Sheffield Hatters before Scorchers go up against Manchester Giants.

In the New Year, WBBL will return to Surrey as Sevenoaks welcome Manchester Mystics to the Sports Park before Scorchers play Worcester Wolves on Sunday 24 January.

Then finally the Suns will be back on Friday 25 March against Team Northumbria, before Surrey Scorchers host Leicester Riders.

Fans wishing to attend Sevenoaks Suns games and then watch Surrey Scorchers can buy Scorchers match tickets online here. Sevenoaks Suns games will be free to attend.
