Surrey Scorchers have added point guard Dimitrios Nikolaou to the roster ahead of tonight's trip to Manchester Giants.
The University of Surrey sport scholar has previously played for EBL Division Two outfit the London Greenhouse Pioneers, and will now make the step up to the BBL.
Dimitrios has also played a key part in the success of Team Surrey Basketball in his time at the University, leading his side to promotion to BUCS Division 1 in his debut year then taking top spot in the same league a season later.
Following his signing, Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos said: "I have been really impressed with Dimitrios' performances for Team Surrey over the years and I have worked closely with him during this BUCS season.
"He has been part of the Scorchers programme for some time now, working with the guys in training and being around the squad. I am delighted to welcome him into the roster for the remainder of the season."
Nikolaou is set to make his debut for Surrey this evening when they travel to bottom of the table Manchester Giants in a 7.30pm tip-off.
Surrey Scorchers are back in a BBL Play-Off spot after they collected an 87-80 win against Leeds Force at Surrey Sports Park, as Tayo Ogendengbe and Chaz Rollins starred for the winning side with a combined 47 points.
